Vista offers dome camera with video analytics
29th July 2010, Reading UK
The new VVRD28V12DN-650 day/night dome camera from Vista offers an impressive 650TVL resolution coupled with powerful on-board video analytics.
These analytics provide the user with an aid to producing sensitive, yet accurate, alarms and on-screen display warnings. Usually this is achieved by using a separate piece of software, but because the VVRD28V12DN-650 has the software integrated into the camera, it provides a range of video analytics as standard and will trigger an external alarm output. These include:
• Video motion detection (VMD) – single zone any size or location within an image
• Motion trace – overlay an image trace of where motion has taken place
• Face detection – trigger alarm on detection of a person’s face
• Minefield – four location VMD positioned anywhere on the screen
• Cross – directional VMD triggered by crossing a set of parallel lines
• Entrance – create VMD area on screen which will trigger alarm after a preset number of activations
• Scene change – trigger alarm if camera view is moved or covered
• Museum Mode – create alarm if object is removed or added to scene
During times when no motion is being detected, the Frame Control feature allows the number of frames being output from the camera to be greatly reduced. Upon detection of motion, frame rate is immediately increased to allow for real-time video. This helps to greatly reduce the amount of disk space used by a single camera.
Mark Pritchard, divisional director of Vista, comments: “This intelligent camera offers a cost-effective solution to applications where video analytics are required. The wide selection of popular options are provided as standard and are already proving useful in various applications.”
